For the MARKK Museum am Rothenbaum we designed the exhibition catalog »Pippi's Papa and a totally true story from the Pacific«. It provides insights into German colonial history in the Pacific area and illuminates the life story of the Swedish seafarer Carl Pettersson, who has striking similarities to the well-known literary figure of Efraim Longstocking. The content of the catalog is designed for children and families, compiled in a interactive way and invites especially younger readers to participate and deal with it more intensively by offering several playful units. The various articles, interviews and stories are supported with pictures by the illustrator »El Boum«.
While designing the catalog, we placed particular emphasis and a focus on finding a suitable mix of communicating its cultural content as well as a child-friendly form of expression.
The publication is available in English and German language and can be ordered in the museum shop using the link below.
